"We made contact with C2 Tactical and explained the need we had for tactical training, and more specifically, training to suit armed men and women officers working in a people crowded environment, tasked with the security and safety of our school students and staff on a daily basis. Carl and his team came to us with information on the business and first sat and listened to the type of security force we had, the methods we had in place in our buildings, the officer experience levels, past training we had incorporated in other years, and most importantly, what we wanted and felt we needed in the way of tactical training. "Our facility recently hosted a 4 day CERT Instructor course. As someone who has never been formally trained in CERT aspects, I was thoroughly impressed with the knowledge and skills that instructors Ed Geroski and John Bakewell exemplified. The two instructed professionally and did not make anyone feel as though they were inferior because of the lack of knowledge they may have had. They simply gave their ideas and instructed as they saw any opportunity to do so with great hands-on training. The training covered more than just the hands-on aspects of CERT though, it covered how to properly instruct and coach a team by teaching the importance of working together as one unit. At the end of the course, I felt that I had a great base of knowledge to start our CERT team and the tools and gear that we will need to accomplish this task.
